We Said Goodbye To Mom Today

I was pleased that two friends at work showed up for the funeral. They were Tony Vitullo and Donna Giglic. The rest of my fellow workers at TEO,  gave me a sympathy card and $100. This is helpful because I've been travelling between Brampton and Newmarket every day for the last week and a half.

It was also good to see the last two sisters/aunts left in the Peever Clan: Shirley Darragh(76)from Ottawa and Olive Buckley(86)from Toronto.

Friends and family of Roy Judges' (30 year companion of Doreen Barron) came out in large numbers because they knew and liked  my mother for many years.

My wife's brother(Rev. Joseph Noseworthy)prepared and executed the service in a thoughtful and moving way.

I did the eulogy from the heart which was received by my brothers and others. However, it was too long and not as funny as I wanted it, but I saw some tears on some people's faces.

Fortunately, we have hundreds of photographs through the 1930s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and the 21st century to remember my mother, my father, the Barron and the Peever families forever. We plan to transfer many of these pictures to a DVD.

This is all part of our history in Canada and on planet Earth during the 20th and 21st century. It's worthwhile remembering for all concerned.
