The Brotherhood Of Christ Then And Now
From what I've read about the movie, it seems that "The Passion Of The Christ" is very medieval Catholic in its inspiration. This comes from earlier "Stations Of The Cross" passion plays and medieval art emphasizing the physical suffering of Jesus. This is understandable because from the dark ages until the 20th century human life has been short with much of pain and sorrow.

Personally, I feel that both the early Christian church and humanity have moved on to better conditions since then. We don't have to be trapped in the 11th century anymore than the 1st century.
