Movie Review 100: Lord Of The Rings/Return Of The King

The best thing about this sequel is spectacular battle scenes. However, I must stress that every scene, every event and every character turn was overdone. This was "scene-milking" in the cinema like I've never seen it before, incredibly overindulgent.

Most of the characters were too stereotyped for my liking and humorless as well.

I liked the ghosts, the dwarf and the battles, however, the rest of it looked like it came from Hogwart's dropouts and outtakes. Two Stars.

Some American Idol Predictions
Mood:

vegas lucky
The finals should be between Chris Daughtry and Katharine McPhee. Obviously, they are the best singers in the competition.

Kellie Pickler(a Carrie Underwood clone)should be gone tonight. Kellie is alright on country tunes, but when she move into another genre, she disappoints.

Taylor Hicks was weak last night and he should be gone next week. He has a great performing style, but his voice has limitations.

She Ain't Heavy. She's My Sister
As human beings, we can't control all the circumstances of our life. Sometimes doing our best isn't enough. There are many things on earth that can harm us or reduce our standard of living.

I believe there's a divinity watching over us that wants to help us live a better life.

Irene, my wife, started a new difficult job recently and I certainly want her to succeed at it. I asked for prayer assistance from an online prayer group. Here's one of the replies:

"Lord, I pray to you that Irene can be succesful in this new job. I pray that the employer can give her the time that is necessary to learn the new tasks she is working on. Please Lord, fill Irene with confidence about her new position and that she will be able to learn what is necessary as soon as possible."

Final Exam Time

That's for my wife, Irene, not me. She still studying to complete her CPA Level One requirements(CPA=Canadian Payroll Association).

Computer Fundamentals is her present course, but it could be called "Computer Bafflegab 101". Ok for technicans but not for users. As it is often said, we learn in spite of those who try to educated us.

I've been trying to help her out as best I can. There's some good websites for computer definitions on the internet. Here's one.

Spooks On The Loose
Friday is ghostly encounter night on the Women's Network. These ghosts aren't exactly the warmest dates or even fun spirits, but, they give unique experiences to "lucky" or "unlucky" human beings.

Unfortunately, all of these shows are from the humans' point of view. Wouldn't it be great if a reality show had ghosts as the main participants? It might be a cross between a paranormal game show and American Idol where each spook trys to scare the hell out of the audience.

This is interesting stuff, but it would be better if all these "ghostly encounters" were on different nights.

It Was A Twelve Hour Day Today
That includes four hours of overtime. Only three hardup posties stayed for the OT. I was one of them. We have 32 on our staff.

It's this type of OT that separates the needy from the greedy.

In the cold world, you have to do extra time and work for a few bucks to pay off the usual debts.

The Mysteries Of Jesus Christ
The paper trail goes back about two thousand years on this planet. The records are not in good shape. Something could be lost in the translation of ancient Greek and Hebrew documents.

These documents are not being used as "memory triggers" by those studying them. This is stand alone material that often comes from dubious sources.

Books like "The Da Vinci Code" or "The Jesus Papers" are really humanistic theology in the disguise of fiction. Obviously, the authors would never go around singing "What a friend we have in Jesus." They just don't believe in that kind of personal contact.

In this blog, I've tried to approach this subject in a non-authoritarian mystical way. Any individual can decide for himself what he personally believes in.

Visions Of High Tech Societies
The greatest advances of the modern age was the ability to conceive different kinds of high tech societies.

With the increase of science fiction writing in the early and middle 20th century, the universe seemed to open up to faster-than-light space craft, alien life forms, powerful computers, artficial intelligence and even time travel.

Most religions prior to the 16th century visualized a universe which had earth at the centre, heaven above and hell below. When humans died, they either played a harp or worked in a fiery pit forever.

As 21st century techology improved, so did our vision of the universe and the future.

In actual fact, science fiction like Star Wars and Star Trek broke through the mental barriers that separated earth from the high tech civilization of Jesus Christ.

It is possible to "upload and download memory" from the "Eternal Brotherhood" to the earthly one. Minds like the internet can be interconnected too.

A 21st Century View Of Christ's Crucifixion
This is an area of Christianity that took me a long time to understanding. Don't ask how long because it begins before this life.

Intellectually, I couldn't get around it. So, I had to enter a mystical state and experience "The Crucificion Memory". While all Christians have the Mind of Christ, this incident isn't the easiest one to navigate through.

The major problems I had to deal with were the beginnings of old universe time and orgins of evil.

"Sin and Death" have been around for sometime. Not only do bodies die, but souls as well.

As I recall, the two major aspects of God's plan for the salvation of spiritual beings trapped in physical bodies was "the reversal of the first evil thoughts and acts ever created" and "the creation of a new universe without evil".(e.g.Behold, I make all things new…I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End,the First and the Last: Revelation 21:5-6).

No doubt, time travel was hard to understand in the 1st century. However, as the knowledge of humanity moved up to include such subjects, this understanding of the Crucifixion became accessible.

In this blog, I've said much about the eternal worlds of Jesus Christ. Eventually, I'll have a website posted on this material.
