If you ever visit Canada, make sure you see a Shakespearean play in Stratford Ontario. Over the years, I've seen Richard the Third, Henry The Fourth-Part One, Macbeth, Hamlet and finally the Tempest starring the great stage actor, William Hutt, as Prospero.
The play is full of magic and spiritual highjinks.
Mr. Hutt gave a multi-dimensional performance, at times cruel and violent, but also forgiving, loving and very poetic.
The play, however, lacks a major adversary to Mr. Hutt's mighty magician and therefore suffers because of it. Three stars.
