Living On The Edge

When my wife was laid off three weeks ago, it was a setback for both of us. Our routines changed. Our comfort level decreased.

However, our belief in each other never changed. While sending out tons of resumes in all directions, we are also looking into a home-based business where my wife can use all of her skills.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Sometimes, you have to depend on your own street smarts and experience to get by.

Victories in life often go to the hungriest teams.

Ken Jennings Falls And Carrie Underwood Ascends

On Jeopardy, it was obvious that Ken Jennings just wasn't with it. He was slow on the draw for most of the questions. Having won over 2 million last year, he had a very large comfort zone. Brad, the guy who won, definitely wanted it more than him.

On American Idol, country pop triumphed over rockin' blues. Carrie was also the best singer of the class of 2005.

It's hard to beat good voice, terrific looks, and good ole' country music in the Heartland of America.

Momma Mia Closes In Toronto

After five years and 2.8 million attendees, Momma Mia finally closed last night. I saw the musical twice and it certainly was more than "Abba's Greatest Hits". The story and the characters were both moving and funny.

I've seen many musicals in Toronto including "Phantom Of The Opera" and "Joseph And His Technicolor Dreamcoat", but Mamma Mia was more fun.

As far as I know, it's still playing in New York with the original cast.

Movie Review 93: Clarence
This is an episode that never made it to "The Touched By An Angel Series."

Klutzy angel, Clarence Oddbody, from "It's A Wonderful Life" goofs everything up in trying to help a dysfunctional family. However, he stills succeeds anyway which makes for a real feel good movie.

Some good laughs along the way, but the material is predictable. Two and half stars.

A New Barron Crusade

Over the last few days, I've been sending out lots of my wife's resumes to prospective employers.

Times are tough when you get laid off, but she can count on my support along with my noble friends, Mr. Computer and Mr. Internet.

Too often, we take steady positions for granted, but not anymore. This crusade starts at home and it'll end when my wife gets a job that she deserves.

The Secrets Behind Alien Abductions

Most humans engage in very mundane and trivial activities which would not grab the attention of a high tech alien race.

And while there are many great writers, musicians, and artists to be experienced, their works can be easily downloaded or accessed through hard media or the internet.

It has been observed that UFO activity is common around electrical grids and nuclear plants.

There are also humans/spirits on this planet who generate massive amounts of psychic and paranormal energy. Some may call this power, witchcraft or wizardry, but the Harry Potters and Luke Skywalkers of Teegeeack(earth)do exist.

Movie Review 92: "Ray"
Mood: a-ok
One of the best biographies that I've seen. The director doesn't pull any punches.

Jamie Foxx won an Oscar for this performance and he deserves it. Not only that, but the story gets into Charles' head and reveals things that few people know. "Ray" is a ray of sunshine.

Four stars.
