Rebuilding Bodies

My uncle used to find and rebuild old decrepit Mustangs for the purpose of resell. He was very successful because classic 1960s Mustangs were in high demand.

Just imagine if classic bodies could be rebuild in a similar way. Wouldn't there be a demand for them in the spirit world? Just imagine having a body like "Superman", "Darth Vader", or "Bugs Bunny". It boogles the mind.

In the 1970s, there was TV program about a rebuilt human being. It was called the six million dollar man starring Lee Majors.

In the 21st century, the techology is there to rebuild body parts from stem cells.

On a personal level, when I was in a dentist's chair, I had a vision of super dental hygenists rebuilding my body from a past life. Believe it or not, these beings worked on my teeth as the first step in a "body rebuild". It doesn't stop there. With the Brotherhood of Christ, not only are bodies rebuilt, but minds and old civilizations as well.

Step by step, a new universe is being created that will never be destroyed.

I Entered My First Poker Tournament Yesterday
Mood:  party time!

That's not me winning the tournament. It was only for $526.00. I didn't win that either.

With $7200 worth of play money, I goofed and went "all in" with two pair against three of a kind. I just didn't see it coming.

Well, I learned my lesson and finished in 46th spot out of a field of 275. I even walked away with $3.00 in prize money.

I'm getting better, but I'm not ready for "prime time poker" yet.

Trying To Play And Win At Texas Hold'em
Mood:  vegas lucky

I love watching the pros play "Texas Hold' em" on TV. Most of the time, they seem to be doing what I'd do in different situations. That doesn't mean, I know a great deal about Texas Hold'em poker. I don't, but I play the game fairly well intuitively.

Recently, I've opened up an account with Poker Stars.com.

Playing free poker was definitely, the stupidest and boringest thing I ever did.

I then, started playing small money games with fixed limits and blinds of $.02/.04. This was OK, but the winnings weren't exciting. I think I won a dollar after two hours of play.

I moved up to the $.25/.50 game quickly. I had to play smarter or I'd lose a few bucks. Who wants that?

Well, I'm in the black ($8.00) after five hours of playing. Try doing that at a casino.

I'm still educating myself on "Texas Hold'em". Any game is more fun when you study it and play it properly. I used to do that with Chess and Backgammon years ago.

A good basic video on the world's most popular poker game is placed below. Have fun and don't let poker control your time and money.

Irene Attends Her First NHL Hockey Game
Mood:  a-ok

Of course, this was a "Toronto Maple Leaf Game" held at "The Air Canada Centre".

Originally, she wanted to leave in the second period, but with the score 2 to 1 for the Leafs, she held in there until the end. The final score was Toronto 4 Ottawa 2

This was the second Leaf game that I've seen. The last one was at Maple Leaf Gardens in the 1970s when Darryl Sittler and Lanny MacDonald were playing.

I'm even old enough to remember when the Leafs won the Stanley Cup in 1967. That was the last year of the original six teams.

I'm not a big a fan now compared to many years ago, however, when I saw Jason Blake score the final Leaf goal against the Senators, it took me back to the great Leaf teams of the 1960s.

I've always been a Leafs fan and always will be, so are Newfoundlanders like my wife.

Alien Encounters 101
Mood:  spacey

Most of us want to know more about the universe. Where do we come from and why are we here? In earlier centuries, man relied on myths, legends and religious dogma to guide him to "higher truths."

Today, science fiction like Star Trek and fantasies like Harry Potter seem to fulfill our desire for a life beyond this planet. We are reaching for something out there and something out there is reaching for us.

Lets face it. We are small fish in the big pond of the universe. While some might call mankind a civilization of petty and negative minds, many of us dream of "first contact" with higher powers (e.g. They could be the "mysterious bug-eyed greys" or the bored superbeings in the "Q Continuum".).

If I was running a class on "Alien Encounters 101", I would divide the aliens into super civilizations of one kind or another. "The Greys", "The Nephilim" and "The Marcabs" would be highlighted. They are advanced humanoid civilizations who are using mankind for mind control experiments and/or genetic manipulation. To them, we're probably the lab-rats of the universe.

On a higher level would be the spiritual/magical world of Melchizedek. This could also be called "The New Universe of Jesus Christ". I've written many entries on this timeless existence. The links are in the column on the right.

Alien Encounters is a great adventure into the unknowns of your mind and the universe. Be willing to explore and gain your own understanding on this subject.

Thanks For Your Support

Over the last week, the Barron Blog set a new record for unique visitors (210). This averages out to 30 per day.

Some of the credit has to go to the hot topic of "America's subprime mess" and its repercussions real or imagined.

I would like to point out that my blog isn't a business blog. I deal with just about every subject under the sun including movies, oldiesUFOs, the afterlife and things that go bump in the night.

Since The Barron Blog's inception in Feb/13/2003, I've placed 1249 entries in this space. I hope you've found them both informative and entertaining.

As long as I'm alive, this blog will continue.

Real Estate Is A Best Investment :" i.e Your Home"

We all have to live somewhere so why not a detached house that you can buy at a reasonable price which will appreciate in time. For those in the U.S. it looks like there's some great bargains available now.

My wife and I did that in 1996 when we bought our first house (a townhouse) near the bottom of the market. We then sold the townhouse for a "so-so profit" a few years later and bought a detached house in central Brampton for a decent price. Through the next five years, we renovated our house throughly: This includes a new roof, vinyl siding, renovated washrooms(3 of them), renovated bedrooms, new furnance, new A/C, etc.

From the time we purchased it to now, I'd say our house appreciated by $90,000. That's not great, but it's a reasonable rate of return. When we sale our house at some distant future time, we'll get every penny out of it. There are no taxes owing when you sell your principle resident in Canada.

Right now, we want to pay off the mortgage as quickly as possible, so we have more funds for travel, the stock market and fancy renovations like a new kitchen.

A paid off house is equity and freed up cash. Even in the U.S., you could start with a 40 year mortgage, but whittle it down with time by putting extra payments on it.

If you had the money, you could buy two places. One to live in and the other to rent (maybe to some foreigners). Many people in Canada do that as an investment.

As for the stock markets, there's always a bull market somewhere. Seek and you shall find.

Sheep Racing: Are You Into It?

Back in the old days, the biggest betting sport was "Horse Racing" than the Greyhounds came along and it was "Dog Racing". Gamblers have even bet on frogs and turtles.

Today, the biggest game in town is "Sheep Racing". These are bets on where sheep will move their money. Usually, they move their cash into or out of certain stocks with the help of "financial experts" who are riding them. In a bull market, they're chasing "the next big thing", "the flavor of the month" and "the bubble in front of them" that keeps getting bigger.

In a bear market, they're just trying to avoid getting killed after they've been "fleeced".

There are those who watch where the smart money is going rather than what the sheep are doing.

You can also start your own party or get to the party early.

If you don't do the above, you'll probably end up in a sheep race and someone will be betting on you to go one way or another.

The Race Is On

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

Rays Of Shunshine In 2008 For The Global Economy

  • The U.S. Housing Bubble has burst and housing is becoming more affordable to lower income workers (with good credit).
  • Multinationals on the Dow like "Johnson and Johnson" "Coca Cola" and "General Electric" are doing well internationally because of a lower American dollar.
  • Millions of speculators have lost billions of dollars moving in out of global markets over the last six months. Kiss the "Get Rich Quick Hustlers" goodbye.
  • Green techology companies are the fastest growing businesses in the world.
  • There's a strong possibility that a democratic president and a democractic congress will intervene to soften the effects of a recession or slowdown.
  • Millions of delinquent debtors will receive credit counselling from social agencies in many states.
  • Thousands of bankers and financiers in the U.S. and the world will receive a crash course on "Risk Management 101".
  • The stock markets of North America are coming under the control of experienced investors rather than erratic speculators.
  • The Olympics in China this year will not only bring athletes of the world together, but deal making business leaders as well.
  • The Federal Reserve will lower interest rates quicker in 2008.
  • The TD Bank of Canada will be used as a example of good banking and investing policies.
  • More and more banks will get into "microfinancing" which helps small time entrepreneurs. This is also a job creator.

Fear Mongering On The Stock Markets

FDR stated back in the depression "that we had nothing to fear but fear itself." He could be talking today about the markets.

More than anything bear markets seem to feed on baser human emotions like fear, hopelessness and depression. Mankind can't advance if they think they're going to be eaten alive.

We survive because we step back from a situation (even a world war) and see what can be done about it. We use our heads, our rationality. We solve problems rather than being a problem.

On the stock market "bubbles" burst all the time. In 2001, there was the "tech bubble", in 2007, it was the "credit/subprime bubble".

However, the bottomline is not everyone that has money invested in  mortgages, the stock market or anything else is stupid or nuts.

If fact, most of the companies in the U.S. are more value priced then other companies in the world. Most of them like G.E., Microsoft, Caterpiller are in good shape with good profits.

We all have to live within our means and I believe most people in the U.S. and elsewhere try to do so.

Affordable housing is beginning to appear in the U.S. and that's good. People will buy to live there rather than flipping the property because of inflated prices.

Green technology is coming on the scene and within a few years it will be driving the stock markets. The investment sheep are always chasing the next big thing.

My advice is to do what Warren Buffett does "buy good stocks at a value price and hold them a long time".
