CUPW/CPC Contract Negotiations-2007
Mood:  not sure

The postal union(CUPW)and Canada Post(CPC)have taken a break from negotiations for Christmas.

One of the major issues, "unused sick time", has yet to be addressed. With an aging work force getting ready to retire, sick time has become a difficult problem confronting management. Under the present system, posties either use their sick time before leaving or lose it at retirement.

To handle this issue for the benefit of everyone concerned, I sent Deborah Bourque(National CUPW President)this letter:

"If management wishes to take away sick time accumulated, it should be done at fifty cents on the dollar. This has been negotiated with other unions and various government departments. The nurses, teachers and Ontario Civil Service come to mind.

I would suggest that this buyout should not be mandatory.

  • Such a buyout could be a retirement incentive for workers with thirty years of service or more. It would be a saving for Canada Post because CUPW members wouldn't be tempted to use their sick time excessively in their remaining years.
  • Other CUPW members could take advantage of this buyout too if Canada Post wanted to move to an "illness insurance program". However, this program would be voluntary and not mandatory.
  • The present sick leave program would continue in place, but new employees might be under a new insurance program with incentives and bonuses where they would accumulate "lieu days" during the year. (Lieu days are those that can be used as sick days or annual leave days)
  • All time and attendance programs must be dropped if management wants union agreement on these issues.

It's status quo on the sick leave unless management pays the piper to those who have accumulated many days of sick leave and deserve to be rewarded for doing so.

Postal Workers should be treated with respect and not like children.

Payment for sick leave should be part of longevity pay and profit sharing. It would replace the old "severance package" on retirement."

The Christmas Rush Is In High Gear At Canada Post

In the International Incoming Section(Toronto Exchange Office)where I work, many posties are working a 12 hour day, 7 day work-week.

This week, I'm working on the dock unloading one trailer after another until there's no room to put the mail anywhere. It requires unlimited overtime and many temporary workers to keep up with the volumes. I'm very tired, but I do manage to work on my days off.

I consider myself fortunate to work in a section where many additional staff members have been hired to handle the increased business of International Mail coming into Canada.

The postie-beaver elves also help Santa in answering his mail from around the world. Check this out:

Posties: God's And Santa's Big Helpers

A  Christmas Story: There was a man who worked for the Post Office whose job it was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses.

One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God with no actual address. He thought he should open it to see what it was about.

The letter read: "Dear God, I am an 83 year old widow, living on a very small pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had $100 in it, which was all the money I had until my next pension check.

Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner. Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with. I have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope.

Can you please help me?

Sincerely, Edna "

The postal worker was touched. He showed the letter to all the other workers. Each one dug into his or her wallet and came up with a few dollars. By the time he made the rounds, he had collected $96, which they put into an envelope and sent to the woman. The rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of Edna and the dinner she would be able to share with her friends.

Christmas came and went.

A few days later, another letter came from the same old lady to God. All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened.

It Read: "Dear God, How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me? Because of your gift of love, I was able to fix a glorious dinner for my friends. We had a very nice day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift.

By the way, there was $4 missing.

I think it must have been those bastards at the Post Office."

Sincerely, Edna.

"Not all posties are Santa's and God's helpers, but most of us are"

Review Of The Rockettes' Christmas Show
Mood:  a-ok

The best numbers were from "The Nutcracker" and "Babes In Toyland". I, especially, liked "The March Of The Wooden Soldiers" which was done with military precision and panache by the Rockettes.

Other dancers fared almost as well as the long-legged girls from New York. The dancing Santas were a hoot and a young ballerina danced well among energetic frolicking animals in "The Nutcracker."

The show ended with a Christmas pageant, carols and real animals(e.g. a camel).

This was one of the most entertaining stage shows that I've ever seen. It ranks up there with "Mamma Mia" and "Phantom Of The Opera". Four Stars.

See it as soon as you can and bring the kids.

The Brotherhood Of Christ Has Similarities To The Q Continuum

This orginally was and still is "The Eternal Priesthood of Melchizedek". It isn't a myth or some kind of fantasy story. These were spirits who were in training to be superbeings in the physical universe. Obviously, it didn't work out because there was only one graduate on this course, Jesus Christ.

He found the other "drop-outs" on planet Earth about 2000 years ago. They were practically in a state of total amnesia. It was his job to get them back where they started out in zero time and space. I've mentioned this subject many times in this blog.

Most Christian sects seem to be stuck in these mysteries which were recorded in the Bible.

Mind-melding with Jesus and the early church has been difficult for humans and most believers. If ancient knowledge and heavenly experience can be shared, it will be for the good of all.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and every more shall be, world without end.

Become A Crusader For Truth

It's really "seek and you shall find" and "ask and it will be answered." Just go out and discover the truth about anything that's important to you like Aliens, New Age Religions, The Illuminati, The Brotherhood of Christ, The Subconscious, Evil Spirits, Brainwashing, Divine Healing, The Twilight Zone, The Q Continuum, Superbeings, Warp Speed, Advanced Civilizations, Your Personal History In The Universe, The History Of The Universe, Black Holes, God, The Disciples Of Christ, 1900 Hundred Years Of Christian Church History, Joseph Smith, Mary Sue Hubbard, etc. etc.

This dirt ball is like kindergarten in a galaxy school curriculum. If you snooze, you loose.

The Bad Guys Of The Universe

Ok, so there's spirits that have problems with dead bodies or undead conditions. These are the vampires, zombies and spooks on the loose. Granted they have personal problems that make them outsiders to most highly controlled humanoid societies.

Spiritual outsiders need help with their condition and problems. However, they are not basically evil and out to destroy mankind as Hollywood propaganda may imply.

The bad guys of the universe have been trying to create superior human beings. The Nazis tried this with their "master race" experiments and aliens have manipulated human DNA to produce their own hybrids. This tampering with the human body probably goes back thousands of years when the "gods" were seen as half human and half animal. Hypnosis and brainwashing have been part of these experiments. Religious sects have found themselves being used for population control. What a person believed in and who he/she was suppose to obey was laid firmly into weak minds.

A suicide bomber is one example of this religious mind control in action. I believe, these bad guys are alien scumbags who abduct humans and brainwash them for their own diabolical purposes. You can call them "Grays", "Marcabs", "Demons", "Evil Spirits", etc. It all amounts to the same thing: Behavior modification by erasing the existing personality and replacing it with something that is more amenable.

As one of the good guys, I'm not in the group making humans or spirits weaker and more controllable. I want beings to remember who they are and where they came from. I want empowered souls so they can defeat those who place others under subconscious controls within the dark recesses of their minds.

Movie Review 109: Superman Returns
Mood:  down

While the special effects were superior to the earlier superman movies, there's not one other aspect that measures up to the first two movies.

To begin with, this superman has little humor compared to the other ones. The dramatic story line deviates too much into Christian mythology and symbolism.

Brandon Roth did ok as a Christopher Reeve clone, but there wasn't enough character material to work on.

At close to three hours long, the film was definitely too long. Two Stars.

Busy Weekend With The Noseworthys
Mood:  caffeinated

My wife's brother, Fred Noseworthy,(from Spaniard's Bay Newfoundland) is in Toronto in order to get the latest treatment(state of the art radiation)for prostate cancer. He and his wife, Evonne, are staying in a Toronto hotel courtesy of the "Canada Health Act" which guarantees the best treatment for any disease in Canada.

Fred was eager to play eurche against me and my partner, brother/caplain, Joe Noseworthy, so I went to the hotel and drove him and his wife to our place in Brampton. Needless to say, Fred played with three different partners and lost with each. Too bad Fred, but you'll win with the computerized micro radiation treatments at Princess Margaret. Slowly, but surely we're getting closer and closer to a cure for prostate cancer.

Today, we went to a Christmas party at Billings Court Manor in Burlington. This is the nursing home where my wife's other brother, Joe, is the caplain. In previous years, I've been Santa there, but not 2006. They found a guy who has a real Santa's beard. Looks like I'll have to find another part-time job as a bad Santa somewhere.
