Crusade For What You Believe In

Crusades are wonderful things. Slavery was eliminated in the British Empire in the early 19th century when the English Christian churches fought against it. Child labour was brought to an end because a writer like Charles Dickens made an issue of it.
Tommy Douglas was the first politician to introduce public health insurance to Canada.
University students in the U.S. organized against the Veitnam war and helped bring it to an end.
At the Aids Conference in Toronto, Bill Gates dedicated half a billion dollars to manage and lessen this dreaded disease.
Most of us may not be in a postion to do what Bill Gates did or to directly influence evils like "The Middle East Wars", "Global Warming", and the "World Trade Barriers" that continue poverty in Third World countries.
However, we all can become prayer warriors and link up with other crusading spirits who want to lessen those destructive conditions that can bring us all down. It's not total evil eradication. It's just making the world a better place to live in for ourselves and our children.

What I Would Do With 42 Million?
Mood: vegas lucky

That's the amount Lotto 649 is tonight. The second largest lottery prize in Canadian history.
Being a screenwriter, I would probably use half of it to make movies. With the rest, I would give 10 million to our families and relatives because Irene and I have large extended families.
I would set aside one million to invest in blue chip stocks and bonds. The rest would be given away to various Canadian charities to help feed and educate poor people in Canada and the Third World.
Obviously, when our movies are commerically successful, We'll be able to help out many worthy causes in different countries.
As far as luxuries are concerned, we wouldn't have many, a trip to Arizona every now and then. Maybe, a trip to Australia(My wife's favourite destination).
It's very hot in the Greater Toronto Area during the summer. We would probably buy a nice place near Spaniard's Bay, Newfoundland and cool off during the summer months.

The Complete Internet Experience

Recently, I bought an external storage drive from "Best Buy" for $116 Canada, I got a "G Drive" with 160 gigs of storage space. With my webpages, blog pages, pictures and songs, etc. I think I've used over 50 gigs already.
Gosh golly, my brain doesn't have 50 gigs of memory.
So I'm saving all of this stuff for posterity and future generations. I'll probably come back later in a space ship and pick up these "backups" for a few laughs with my alien buddies.
The internet is now over 15 years old. Our minds are expanding at an incredible rate. Are you ready to mutate into something awesome?

Biography Of The Week

This goes to Cathy Jones of St. John's Newfoundland who has worked in comedy troupes such as "Codco" from 1973 to 1991. She's now in her 13th season on "This Hour Has 22 Minutes", a comedy spoof of things Canadian. It continues on CBC televison.
Cathy can create and impersonate characters of both sexes. She started out with Newfoundland stereotypes, but has progressed to funny take-offs of both Americans and Canadians.
In her TV biography, she came across as a caring/funloving mother and friend. She has no pretentions about herself and is still looking to do her best work.
She may not be famous outside of Canada, but she's left her mark on audiences from sea to sea.

Where Do Souls Go When Their Bodies Die?

To a certain degree, I answered that question while writing the screenplay for Hotel California.
In the past, various prophets and writers had visions of Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, and points in between.
To me, the above were long term destinations for spirits. However, I was interested in short term holding areas. Something along the line of a "Grand Hotel for Ghosts" or a "Grand Central Station For Souls".
There were also questions about memory loss and identity loss between lives.
Basically, I just "asked and knocked" as suggested in Christ's Beatitudes in the Bible.
We all have a spiritual journey to complete in life. Hopefully, this material helps you with yours.

The Weather Changes In Brampton
Mood: happy

Over the last week, temperatures have reached 36C with a humidex of 47C. These conditions have made it unpleasant and dangerous to work and play outdoors.
However, like everything in this world, the weather changes. Last night , we were hit with rain and thunderstorms that caused 100,000 Ontarians to lose power in their homes. Today, there was more precipitation with a temperature of 24C.
We prayed for rain and lower temperatures. Our prayers were answered.
However, the weather is a lot easier to change than the human heart. Hopefully, men of goodwill will meet and change the direction of the conflict in Lebanon.
There are spiritual stewards who help change things for the better. Sometimes, it takes a little longer to produce results with human beings.
