My First Games Of Texas Holdem Poker

I've watched a lot of "Texas Holdem Poker" on television, but only last night did I play my first matches. Basically, our games were very user-friendly. The entrance fee was $10 a person, winner take all. 50 chips were distributed to five players. The blinds started with one chip for the small blind and two chips for the large blind. As each player was eliminated, the blinds would double. This made it very easy to bet and raise.

Playing this way, we finished three matches in less than three hours.

Call it beginner's luck or maybe I learned how to apply my "Texas Holdem Theory" properly in real games. Basically, I never played a hand unless it had a chance of winning and when I did play it, I oftened pushed the raises to the limit. The result was two out of three matches won.

Of course, it was fun to win, but it was also fun to try to play the game properly: Who will fold by raising? Who bluffs or trys to improve their hand to the bitter end. Is my hand better than the other hands now? Should I play this hand or not?
