Best Download Of The Week
Mood:  a-ok
This would be "Microsoft's Beta Anti-Spyware Software". I've used free versions of "Adware" and "Spybot", but this one beats them both. Check it out below:

Renovations Have Slowed Down
Mood:  chillin'
If there's one thing that slows renovations down considerably, it has to be illness. We thought we'd finish the bedroom this weekend, but a flu bug had a different opinion. Both my wife and her son have been stricken with a virus.

I'm ok, but I've been doing most of the housework over the last few days.

Human fraility strikes us when we least expect it.
Before other things are fixed in the house, we have to fix our personal house, the human body. Just put your hands on your monitor and say HEAL!!!

Ring Two: Did You See It?
Mood:  spacey
It looks kind of goofy, probably, campy too. Whatever, the critics might say, it seems to have enough entertainment/schlock value to make it to number one this weekend.

Father's Day In March
A little boy got on the bus, and sat next to a man reading a book, and noticed he had his collar on backwards. The little boy asked why he wore his collar that way. The man, who was a priest, said, "I am a Father." The little boy replied, "My Daddy who's a father doesn't wear his collar like
that." The priest looked up from his book and answered, "I am the Father of many." The boy said, "My Dad has 4 boys, 4 girls and 2 grandchildren and he doesn't wear his collar that way." The priest, getting impatient, said, "I am the Father of hundreds," and went back to reading his book. The little boy sat quietly, but on leaving the bus, he leaned over and said, "Well, maybe you should wear your pants backwards instead of your collar."

Mean Flu Going Around
Mood:  chillin'
My wife has it, right now, but I don't have it. Seems it can lay you down for days. Hope you don't get it.

Pray for good health for yourself/family and us.

There are many challenges to overcome in life. I pray that we'll have the will and resources to overcome them.

Craps: My Favourite Casino Game
Last Saturday, for the third time in a row, I won at craps. I have a natural affinity for this game because of my backgammon experience.

Unlike blackjack or other card games, the player gets to handle the tools of his trade. Also, the whole table so to speak, plays the same "hand" against the house. It's the underdogs versus the overdogs.

There are techiques that can be learned with regards to holding and throwing the dice as well as betting strategies.

"When you're hot you're hot and when you're not you're not".

One can play to win or pay for the entertainment.

Some Renovations Take Longer Than You Think
With a 25 year old underlay that looks and feels like crazy glue mush, it's going to take at least a week to finish off our bedroom. In the meantime, we get to sleep on the seldom used futon in the family room. Not exactly comfortable for two, but it's next to a cool fireplace which is good for sleeping.

I feel like a DP(displaced person)in my own house.

The Loretta Lynn Concert In Niagara Falls
Mood:  special
I'd like to point out that Elvis Presley and Loretta Lynn were born in the same year, 1935. Both of them were and still are legends in the music business. I'm lucky, that I saw one of those legends last night.

What makes Loretta unique is how she tells the story of her life through songs. It isn't the country favour that's important about this material , it's the authenticity in it.

Sissy Spacek captured Loretta's special qualities/talents in the biopic "Coal Miner's Daughter."

There's not many performers who can win a Granny at 69.

The concert was a real family affair with her daughter, brother-in-law and sister(Peggy Sue)contributing.

Loretta looked good and sounded great although she seemed to tire quickly(no doubt from her recent illness). Three stars.

The Big Push To Finish Off Bedroom Renovations
Mood:  caffeinated
Why do tomorrow what can be done today?

Well, just about everything in the bedroom has been placed in our office. I'm lucky that I have enough room to write this blog entry.

Over the next few days, not only do we intend to see Loretta Lynn in Niagara Falls, but we also want to rip up the old carpet in the bedroom, repaint the walls, hang new curtains and put down a good carpet. That should take about three days. Again, the Newfoundland beavers are getting the job done.
