The Big Push To Finish Off Bedroom Renovations
Mood:  caffeinated
Why do tomorrow what can be done today?

Well, just about everything in the bedroom has been placed in our office. I'm lucky that I have enough room to write this blog entry.

Over the next few days, not only do we intend to see Loretta Lynn in Niagara Falls, but we also want to rip up the old carpet in the bedroom, repaint the walls, hang new curtains and put down a good carpet. That should take about three days. Again, the Newfoundland beavers are getting the job done.

American Idol Returns: The Top 12
Mood:  hug me
The American Idol finalists this year are definitely better than the top 12 last year. Lots of good voices especially with the guys.

It will be a tough choice, but I favour Bo Bice because he has superior entertainment skills. Of the girls, Carrie Underwood impresses me the most. Reminds me of Faith Hill.

It should be a showdown between New Country and good old Rock and Roll.

The Barron Renovations Continue
Mood:  energetic
After renovating the garage, the bathroom and the office last year, we've finally got around to the bedroom. It's only going to be a new paint job and new carpet, but we've got to move some very heavy bureaus and other furniture to do it.

Both my wife and her son have no trouble doing this work, because they're Newfies. It's part of their cultural heritage to be handy around the house. They're real beavers and Canadian ones at that.

This would be "The Masterplayer's Quiz" on the subjects of Hotel California and Area 53. So far, Daniel Coon leads with 28 correct answers. Second is John Steinbeck(The dead writer?)with 23 good guesses. The others aren't even close.

It's Time To Do The Taxes Again
Do you get a refund or do you have to pay? In my family, I do the taxes with Quicktax software. After three returns, everyone, is getting a refund this year. Maybe not as much as they like, but it's better than giving a donation to Revenue Canada.

I hope you're getting something back.

Prayer Of The Week
St. Theresa's Prayer:

May today there be peace within. May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite
possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be
content knowing you are a child of God.... Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It
is there for each and every one of you.

Pass this prayer to another.

A Prayer For NHL Peace
I pray that the Player's Association and NHL owners will be able to recognize the rights, duties and privileges of the other side as well as their own.

I pray that they will be able to see how a prolong lockout damages the economy of an area where NHL hockey is played.

I pray that the player's association will put more attention on improving the feeble pensions of players who have retired.

I pray for love and understanding of each other at the negotiation table.

I pray for a new NHL contract that is sane and promotes a better game of hockey to North America and the world.

And most of all, I pray that this is your prayer too.

Movie Review 90: The Forgotten
Mood:  a-ok
Although the story was slow to develop, it did unfold credibly with atequate spookiness and suspense.

There was a unique point of view on mysterious deaths/disappearances and memory losses.

I found this particular science fiction theme to be very realistic with regards to human relationships and experiences. It gives a whole different meaning to the phrase: "get a life." Three stars.
