Our Departure From Newfoundland
Can you imagine getting caught in a blizzard in late April when travelling to St. John's airport? Yes, that's what happened to Irene and I in the early hours of Apr/25/04. So much snow, we didn't know whether we were on the road or not. We should have taken along a dogsled and an eskimo guide.

A Short Newfoundland Vacation
Mood:

hug me
Tomorrow, Irene and I are leaving for Newfoundland from the Toronto(Pearson)airport. This is just for five days. It'll be the first time we've been there in five years. Irene is looking forward to visiting her mother who is in the hospital. Her family(five brothers and their wives)will get together on Saturday and sing Newfoundland folk songs until 4:00 A.M.. This is a tradition I don't relish. But all things considered, it's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to stay there.

Below is the house in Spaniard's Bay where Irene lived in her childhood. Her older brother, Clarence, now lives there.

Religious Article Of The Week
There are religious scholars that I admire who just didn't accept everything they were taught about certain religions(e.g. Christianity).

Tom Harper is one of them who writes about unorthodox subjects in his Toronto Star religious column. Here is one of his controversial statements from the title article: "The greatest duplicity lies in the fact that when the Church needed some meaty intellectual tonic in the Middle Ages, it turned to two Pagans, Plato and Aristotle. It was to Aristotle especially, the pupil of Plato, that St. Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274) looked for the theology that was to shape his own church down to today!"

New Age Christianity didn't start with me. There were many seekers in the past who wanted a deeper understanding of "Man, Myth and Religion". Simply accepting church creeds and dogma wasn't enough.

Movie Review 67: The Missing
Mood: down
This film meanders over Arizona like the heroine and her father who are tracking down renegade Indians who have kidnapped their daughter/granddaughter. The main focus seems to be either the scenery or dead bodies that are brutally murdered. Hardly pleasant stuff and the long, long, long chase of the bad guys over John Wayne territory is just plain boring. One star.

Film Reviews Of The Week
Mood: a-ok
These reviews are from Toronto Star columnist, Peter Howell. He has such a good way with words when he hates a picture with a passion. Here is a sample of his review on "Masked And Anonymous": "Everyone was so generous that it wound up being an incredible communal experience and actually a spiritual experience," Charles says on the DVD. "It was a process without any desired results." Here's my translation of that: "The movie had no form or focus whatsoever and it died like a dog, but the cast parties were fantastic."

He attacks actors, directors and screenwriters who seem to be in love with their own works.

More 21st Century Jesus
Jesus and Bill Gates decided one day to see who was the best computer programmer. So they decided to have a timed contest with Donald Trump as the referee. They had one day to come up with a killer app. They both got to work and were coding at a furious pace. In the last five minutes they were nearly done when--POOF!--there's a power surge, and both computers lose power. Gates panics, and sure enough, when the computer comes back up, there's no sign of his code. But Jesus manages to compile and run his program at the last possible moment. Gates is furious and screams, "He cheated! How could he possibly have done that?!?" Trump smiles and says..."Jesus saves, and you're fired."

A Meeting Place For Spirits, Humans And Aliens
There should be a safe place where humans can meet spirits and aliens without the fear that they may get eaten or have their brains scrambled.

I believe there is such a place in Arizona called Katimavik. There's no reason why life forms of good will can't meet together and learn something from each other even if past encounters have been a failure.

It's hard to keep a superbeing like Jesus down on an Easter weekend. Maybe, "Hellboy" and "The Alamo" just aren't in the same league as the Son Of God. Easter Sunday In The New Age
(Please read the entry before this one first.)

As Jesus moved forward in time he encountered spiritual oppression relating to spiritual and physical death(e.g. "When you're dead, the soul is weak and unconscious. When the body dies, you die. When you're dead, you can't move, so you remain frozen and rot. When you're dead, you can't feel, see or hear. When you're dead, you can't repair or resurrect the body." etc. etc.)

The above is "The Devil's Mental/Spiritual Straitjacket" that entrapped souls for eons. Christ's resurrection was and still is a victory over the darkside. "Oh, death where is thy victory? Oh, grave where is thy sting?"
