Valentine's Day Heartaches
A lonely heart who farts in church has to sit in his/her own pew. Hugs and kisses anyway. Have a nice Valentine's Day.

My Top Ten Romantic Karaoke Songs
When I courted Irene, my future wife, I sang romantic songs to her at various bars and restaurants. These were the ones that she liked the most:
1. Can't Help Falling In Love 2. The Wonder Of You
3. It's Now Or Never 4. Burning Love(Elvis-One To Four)5. Dream Lover(Bobby Darin)6. Hang On Sloopy(The Real McCoys) 7. Spanish Eyes(Al Martino)8. Sweet Caroline(Neil Diamond)9. Diana(Paul Anka)10. Little Devil(Neil Sedaka)
There are many ways to be romantic with that someone special. Happy Valentine's Day

More Blog Bang Per Megabyte
The basic operating basis for "The Barron Blog" is lots of content, lots of variety and lots of updates. Hopefully, there's interesting stuff in this weblog that you can spend hours reading.

Variety, of course, is the spice of life. There may not be "a really big shoe" on these pages, but the material and the cast changes from day to day.

I'm also trying diligently to update these pages on a daily basis.

Movie Review 62: Shanghai Knights
Delicious spoof on kung fu/karate movies and action movies in general. Jacki Chan and Owen Wilson work very well together. Outakes at the end simply hilarious. Unfortunately, the story line is just method of setting up Jacki's fights and stunts. Two and half stars.

Canadian Joke Of The Week
A Canadian Is Drinking In A New York Bar.

He gets a call on his cell phone. He hangs up, grinning from ear to ear & orders a round of drinks for everybody in the bar because, he announces, his wife has just produced a typical Canadian baby boy weighing 25 pounds.

Nobody can believe that any new baby can weigh in at 25 pounds, but the Canadian just shrugs, "That's about average up North, folks. Like I said, my boy's a typical Canadian baby boy." Congratulations showered him from all around & many exclamations of "WOW!" were heard. One woman actually fainted due to sympathy pains.

Two weeks later the Canadian returns to the bar.

The bartender says "Say, you're the father of that typical Canadian baby that weighed 25 pounds at birth, aren't you? Everybody's been makin' bets about how big he'd be in two weeks. We were gonna call you... so how much does he weigh now?" The proud father answers, "Seventeen pounds." The bartender is puzzled & concerned. "What happened? He already weighed 25 pounds the day he was born."

The Canadian father takes a slow swig from his Molson Canadian, wipes his lips on his shirt sleeve, leans into the bartender & proudly says, "Had him circumcised".

Google Revisited
Mood:  happy
For whatever reasons, the search engine, Google, appears to have went back to its original way of listing websites. "The Angel At Hotel California" is again back in the top ten results with the search term, "Hotel California". For awhile, it looked like one had to pay big bucks to get a top ten listing with them or any other search engine.

Give the guys from Google an e-mail validating their change of heart. Any thoughts or comments on the major search engines' listing criteria?

A Good Resource: The Toronto Star
Mood:  bright
I obtained many of my political cartoons from the best newspaper in Canada, the Toronto Star. For over a hundred years, the Star has crusaded for those who were voiceless or marginalized(like the poor or various ethnic groups). Recently, some journalists wrote a series of articles on the abuse of the elderly in nursing homes.

Our Newfoundland Vacation
A couple of years ago, the wife and I stayed at her brother's place in Newfoundland. The people there are very down-to-earth and friendly. If you need some work done around the house, a Newfy can do the job. The terrain is beautiful in a rugged way with lots of bays and fjords along the coast. It also has a history that dates back to the 15th century. Check it out.

Joke Of The Week
A couple was dressed and ready to go out for the evening. They turned on a night light, turned the answering machine on the phone line, covered their pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard. They phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi. The taxi arrived and the couple opened the front door to leave their house. The cat they had put out into the yard scoots back into the house. They don't want the cat shut in the house because "she" always tries to eat the bird. The wife goes out to the taxi while the husband goes inside to get the cat. The cat runs upstairs, the man in hot pursuit. The wife doesn't want the driver to know the house will be empty. She explains to the taxi driver that her husband will be out soon. "He's just going upstairs to say goodbye to my mother." A few minutes later, the husband gets into the cab... "Sorry I took so long," he says, as they drive away. "Stupid bitch was hiding under the bed. Had to poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out. Then I had to wrap her in a blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked. I hauled her fat ass downstairs and threw her out into the backyard. The cabdriver hit a parked car...
