1. Number one is Aselin Debison's cover of "Over The Rainbow" and "Wonderful World". The video was taken near
her hometown in Cape Breton Canada. The song is very personal to my own life.
2. This song is probably the first music video ever created. It's
Calendar Girl by Neil Sedaka and he deserves to be in the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame". He captures the late 50s and early
60s with this tune.
3. Number three goes to Chubby Checker for "The Fly". He was better
know for "The Twist" and "The Pony", but this song rocks with fantastic energy.
4. This song was the background for a "Final Fantasy" love scene.
It fit beautifully with the action. The tune is Johnny
Tillotson's "Poetry In Motion". I love these happy rhythmic songs.
5. Number five is from a performer who pioneered the dramatic
gritty rock song. He's Del Shannon and the tune is "Runaway".
6. Elvis has alway been a great performer and here he is at his
rockin' best in Hawaii with "Big Hunk Of Love".
7. At number seven is Madonna's "Like A Prayer". It's controversial
but it's also highly original.
8. Carrie Underwood puts real feeling into a spiritual song("Jesus
Take The Wheel") that demonstrates how despair and overwhelm can be handled in a difficult situation.
9. Gene Vincent was one of the early pioneers of the "bad boy"rock
sound. Here he is in England, dressed in leather garb doing "Be Bop A Lu La". Fantastic!
10. I wanted to put the English group, Showaddywaddy in this spot
with "Pretty Little Angel Eyes", a song originally done by Curtis Lee.
The Showaddywaddy version of this song was classic
Dowop. It was taken off of YouTube, so I have to content myself with "I Wonder Why", a song originally done by Dion and The
Belmonts.
